… to the website of Stevenage Photographic Society. Founded in 1974, the Stevenage Photographic Society is one of the oldest and most distinguished photographic societies in the area. We meet every Monday at the Community Arts Centre, Roaring Meg Retail Park, Stevenage, at 7.45 pm. Our aim is to promote interest in all aspects of photography, as an art form accessible to all, and welcomes members who enjoy photography at all experience levels, young and old, amateur and professional.

A message from our Chairman
Welcome everyone – new members, current members and prospective members. We are justifiably proud of Stevenage Photographic Society.
In our programme for the year 2013/2014 every meeting will be a photographic experience, a learning opportunity for beginners and novices, a development opportunity for more advanced members who are also more than willing toshare their skills with the less experienced. We have outside speakers giving tutorials and lectures on a wide range of photographic topics, a number of hands-on studio nights and workshops, and in-house open and themed competitions judged by experts, as well as entering external competitions.
However, it’s not all hard work. We have a very friendly membership, with shared interests. Coffee breaks produce lively discussion along with excellent home-made cakes. There are several social events during the year. During the summer months when most other camera clubs close, we have a lighter, more outdoor programme which is still mainly photography based, with walks, visits and treasure hunts as well as social meetings.
The more you put into the club the more you will get out, and you should find, as I have found, that the standard of your photography improves both technically and artistically. You should also have gained a group of like-minded friends who speak your language!
