… to the website of Stevenage Photographic Society. Founded in 1974, the Stevenage Photographic Society is one of the oldest and most distinguished photographic societies in the area. We meet every Monday at the Community Arts Centre, Roaring Meg Retail Park, Stevenage, at 7.45 pm. Our aim is to promote interest in all aspects of photography, as an art form accessible to all, and welcomes members who enjoy photography at all experience levels, young and old, amateur and professional.

A message from our Chairman

AndyrooStevenage Photographic Society’s aim is to promote and encourage our members photographic ambitions. From simply taking better holiday photos, family pictures and subjects that are of special interest for you, to entering club, local, national and international competitions. It is certainly not about having the latest and most expensive camera.

We run a varied program of activities throughout the year including discussion nights, guest lecturers and competition judges, studio sessions and field trips, catering for photographers at many different levels, so you certainly will not feel out of place with us. Some of our members do indeed own top of the range cameras, many of us have more modest camera equipment.

It’s all about taking well composed correctly exposed creative pictures, it will not happen on your first evening with us, but stick with it, get involved and we will be pleased to help you. If you are a novice or a more experienced photographer wishing to get the best from your camera, and you enjoy taking pictures then we look forward to seeing you.
